Rock City regional

The Metal Skins kicked off the competition season in Arkansas with the Rock City Regional

The ride down there was everything you could expect from a road trip through The Great Plains ....... A whole lot of nothing and a lot of intense weather

We did make there eventually though

Just in time for even more rain......... that proceeded the remainder of our visit.

Practice Day

A little rain won't put out our fire, we are an Oklahoma based team after-all

We absolutely had our struggles though, after using a mecanum drive for the past 3 years, a chain led tank drive was a new experience for the team.

Bent and Broke some aluminum and steel axles

At the end of the day we were up and running, and even helping other teams fix coding.

Competition Begins!

If Kick-off leaves any imprint ever year, It is most definitely APPLY APPLY APPLY!!!

We kicked off our First regional a bit slower than expected, like not moving slow.

Never heard of team 2461 in our lives, promise.

However. we ̶R̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ walked safely back to the pits to figure out why we aren't moving. These hand motions are the professional way to explain how wiring works. It makes sense we swear.

At this point we discovered the ''pretty curtains'' were violent.

All better.

Competition day 2

Day two started out a lot smoother, we were running better than ever before and our team decided to go full defense as it was our strong suit and there were no others at the competition.

Since we decided to change our strategy in the game, we immediately began reviewing rules for, pinning, blocking and pushing. 110% read to take the game by storm.

But the ACTUAL storm outside had other ideas........as we sat in darkness for the next 4 hours.

We took this opportunity to practice team building. After about the 30 minute mark our adviser came back from the store with copious amounts of glow products ......which were then used in a multi- team Robot Rave.

The lights eventually did come back on though, at this point The First Game Director informed us that the rest of the matches would be canceled and we're pushing right into the tournament.

They let us un-bag ???

Due to competition complications First Robotics let all of the parcipants who were parcitipating in another regional have an unbag time to make up lost time.
